It sounds better that way to me. With the "in this world" part it extends too long, sometimes intruding into the next rap verse. Perhaps that was why.

EDIT: I just listened to them back-to-back, and I wish that Amaru Records could treat the OGs the way this song was treated. They actually trimmed out a part that we could do without, added some nice vocals (Val Young in this case) that matched the song well, and added some more elements to the instrumental that made the song sound much fuller and richer.

"Still I Rise" is Amaru's best release in my opinion.

It's officially an Interscope release, not an Amaru. But as far as posthumous releases go, I would agree that it's one of the better ones. But in hindsight, the only song they really fucked up was Tattoo Tears, and then there are a couple songs that are iffy. Plus they removed all Fatal verses plus they cropped him off of the pictures he was in.

Big_R gave me all 3, the one labelled "Alternate 1". It's got an extra instrument (sounds like the one used in Letter 2 The President) and the violins are way lighter.

Look at the picture called "Hit Em Up '96"... in the original picture (Tupac Resurrection, p. 210), Fatal is a bit to the right of Pac.

Look at the picture called "Made Niggaz '96: Kastro, Napoleon, Kadafi, E.D.I"... Fatal isn't really cut out in this one, but you can see him behind E.D.I. Obviously this picture was picked because you can't see Fatal, there are other pictures (which are better, I might add) of this exact same moment where Fatal is visible. An example of it has been posted before because someone was looking for a higher resolution copy of the picture.

[This isn't Fatal, but I figured I'd mention it.] Look at the picture called "Studio"... in the original picture (Tupac Resurrection, p. 209), Dr. Dre is behind Johnny "J". They just photoshopped Dre out and shifted the sound equipment behind Johnny "J".

Look at the last picture entitled "Hit Em Up '96"... in the original picture (Thru My Eyes, p. 135), Fatal is in front of Napoleon, but they photoshopped him out, took E.D.I.'s image (who is on the left side of the original) and flipped it horizontally and put him over Fatal.

To each his own. Personally, I thought the beat was corny and amateurish. It doesn't flow well on its own, I don't know how to explain it.

Eh, it's alright. I'm a bigger fan of his Death Row-era work. There are too many filler tracks that I usually skip. To quote VIBE about it, "[it] would probably have been an excellent EP instead of an LP-squared."

Thats just wat happens when u get QD3 to rework a track as opposed to Eminem:thumb: he's differnately been my favourite posthumous producer...this track, Hellrazor, Letter 2 The President, Lost Souls etc he should be used alot more, even tho he aint really into producing no more im sure he is down for doin any Tupac tracks he is asked to do.
Still I Rise is my fav Deathrow posthumous release, i can listen to all tracks (minus that pathetic last track) from start to finish & not wanna kill someone for fuckin up the songs...& we have OG's for most in high quality except Homeboys, which i'd love to hear since that is my least liked track other then last.

Is it just me or did the fuck up on letter to the prsident?, its a good song but after he says "In case you dont know, I let my pumps go", it sounds like it cuts, anyhow about "Teardrops and Closed Caskets" this would have to be one of the rare instances that i like the newer version better than the OG, 99% of the time i would say they shouldent fuck with his work and it should be released the way HE intended, one of the best examples is "My Closest Roaddoggs", good song but they fucked up big time removing syke, i aint saying that they shouldent of reworked it a little because it was kinda empty but they should have kept syke in it, thats the type of thing that pisses me off.

most likely someone knocked the lyric stand... there's a lot of such noises in pac's death row music, including sneezes, coughes, doors closing, etc.

That's not entirely accurate. QD3 sure can drop some dope ass beats, but not all of his production "reworks" have been good... such examples in my personal opinion (may differ from yours) are Fuck Friendz (corny), Niggaz Nature Remix (too poppy), and U Don't Have 2 Worry (TERRIBLE) are all iffy at best. Even though he's your favorite posthumous producer, Letter 2 the President wasn't drastically different from the OG musically, and I assume Lost Souls was pretty much untouched.

Not necessarily. Pac's lyrics still talk about someone else rolling with him. Kind of like "Never Had a Friend like Me"
