I'm going to see Stone Sour live tonight. Should be pretty awesome. I'm a massive Slipknot fan, haven't heard a great deal of Stone Sour's stuff but regardless it will be awesome to see the legends known as Corey Taylor and Jim Root.

Bullets and Octane are the support act, haven't heard much of them before, but I'm liking what I hear on their MySpace.

Will post a review either late tonight or tomorrow. Should be a good night!

Man, the gig was fucking immense.

After a long wait, Bullets & Octane took to the stage for a half hour set . They were good, but too many of their songs were similar, there wasn't a lot of dynamics in their set, pretty much just fast metal the whole way. The frontman was very charismatic though, he was good, but they need some better songs.

Then Stone Sour came on and the whole place exploded. Their set was amazing. About half way through, Corey said "This song is dedicated to George W Bush. That redneck piece of shit who's trying to take away freedom, not just in America but all around the world".

The song they played was fucking superb, then the lights dimmed, the band all left, a spotlight hit Corey and he picked up a guitar and did some chilled out songs, including "Bother" from the Spiderman soundtrack which was my highlight of the night, and the new single "Through Glass". This part was the best bit IMO.

Then the rest of the band came back and did a few more songs including "Get Inside" which rocked the place. I have to say, the band was tight, Corey and Jim are showman for sure, and the drummer Roy Mayorga (ex-Soulfly) was fucking incredible.

I'd recommend anyone to go see Stone Sour play, they are one sick band and Corey is an incredible singer and frontman.
