'Stone Cold' back for 'Mania

March 27, 2005

BY BLACKJACK BROWN

For a wide variety of reasons, ''Stone Cold'' Steve Austin has spent more time away from the WWE than with it over the last three years. But it sounds as if that is all about to change.

After clearing up some personal problems, and signing a lucrative deal with WWE films, Austin will make his return to the scene next week at WrestleMania 21 in Hollywood.

Fans will get their first look at the "Texas Rattlesnake'' on April 2, when Austin has the honor of inducting "Rowdy'' Roddy Piper into the WWE Hall of Fame. At Mania, Austin will be the guest of Piper as "Piper's Pit'' returns to the WWE.

While doing a media tour to promote WM21, Austin has been outspoken about his desire to get back in the ring in the near future and thinks he still has two or three big matches left in him.

HEARD AROUND THE RING: In addition to Austin's inducting Piper, Sylvester Stallone will induct Hulk Hogan, Jim Ross will honor Nikolai Volkoff, Jerry Lawler will introduce Jimmy Hart, Bobby Heenan will induct Bob Orton, and Sgt. Slaughter will induct his old rival the Iron Sheik. ... Rob Van Dam is coming along ahead of schedule in his recovery from major knee surgery and should be back in the ring around August. ... Marty Jannetty impressed the WWE enough to earn a contract. Jannetty will team with Shawn Michaels on a regular basis after WrestleMania.

Damn, I was sure Janetty would be tossed away.

Still pessimistic about his chances though...the WWE can kick him to the curb whenever they want.

There's also a Outside Possibliity That Austin v Hassan Might Happen.
If Hogan Doesnt Fight Him. They Cant Come To Terms Right Now For Hogan To Fight A Match. Im Ready For WM 21.

(ORTON V UNDERTAKER WILL BE THE BEST MATCH OF THE NIGHT)
"Runner Up" HBK v Angle

im not into wrestlin that much anymore but i would love to see stone cold end his wrestling career against the rock in next years wrestlemania, sorta like both of their last matches you know (since the rock isn't around much anymore)

I wouldn't. Austin can't work in his condition. It would be an awful anti-climax and a terrible way to end his career.
