Hey,

I just got a new notebook and it's telling me that I have a few free times to use Excel, Outlook, etc and then I have to pay for it. I have to enter the product key. Well, i'm trying to buy it at the school store b/c it's cheaper. They have Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 for $28.

1. is that a good deal?

2. will it come with the "product key" I need to keep these programs?

3. Is it compatible with Vista?

I just want a second opinion prior to buying the program.

Thanks :)

I don't know anyone that has EVER bought Office. I'll hook you up with it for free, if you want.

hm I think I've seen ;) few generic working keys for office 2007 enterprise :D
Those keys work but I think they are not legal.

New Microsoft software can't be pirated, when connected to the internet they check to see if any one else is using the same registration key as yourself, if they find you are it will tell you that you have 30 days to buy a legitimate copy and then it will stop working. I forgot the name of it, but you also get the same message when using a pirated version of xp/vista.

yet somehow most used vistas and xps are pirated and work for everybody without any problems. Same with office enterprise. You can download free 60 day trial, then crack it and use generic serial and it will work without any problems or download the cracked version. Disabling internet check is easy even for average internet nerd.

Its some antipiracy protocal, more and more people are using it, mainly game developers. It doesn't even has to pass through your firewall. I've had to downgrade alot of PCs for people who have installed one of the newer versions of XP because of this.

They are really cracking down on piracy now internet connections are getting faster.

Masta, can you explain to me the difference between Enterprise and the Vista suite. No one has been able to do so yet

Enterprise is the best version of office with most programs. It also works on vista as well as xp.

yeah they have some antipiracy stuff going on there but it only works when you install the original uncracked version with generic "pirated" serial. If you download the cracked software it won't connect with internet and it will work without any limits - considering you won't download microsoft "updates".

i use vista..and office 2003..a friend of mine burned me a copy..i typed in the serial he gave me..and then what u have to do is register......but for some reason my cdkey didnt work when i typed it in...so the other optin is doing it over the phone...

so i called them up gave them the first 4 - 5 digits of my cd key...and got official validation to use office 2003....it all worked out and now i can use it:D

1. is that a good deal?
That is a great deal. Usually it is worth about $200 bucks. Remember this is for your job, so if you pirate and it fucks up when you need it you will be screwed. $28 bucks is what; an hour of working. If you can't afford $28 dollars then you are not in the right profession.

2. will it come with the "product key" I need to keep these programs?
Yes, it has to have one. Each program is unique.

3. Is it compatible with Vista?
Look at the box in the front and it will tell you. I am almost positive that it is compatible.

but yeah.. like poster below said, it's a great deal.
Here where I live it costs more than 1000$ for a 1-pc license ^^
A basic version (with 4 basic programs only) for students costs 100$ and I'm most probably gonna get one.

Get Open Office. Its free, completely compatiable with all office files, and the Excel spreadsheet program in Open Office is a lot better than Microsoft Office.

Plus, Open Office runs a lot smoother and faster.
