From what I saw briefly in the video, what he says has relevance.

People talked about hip hop being dead (now the cliche thing to say is Common said it in '94) before Nas, but when he said it, it's like everybody started saying it and BELIEVING IT.

Same with Lil Wayne, as soulja boy and them say....nobody was saying he's the best rapper alive until he said it, and then people started agreeing with it.

As the saying goes (somewhat), you tell a lie enough times, and it becomes the truth.
