Britain is appealing a court's decision in hopes of allowing Snoop Dogg back into the country, after being barred back in 2006.

According to the Associated Press, the British government is appealing a court's ruling at a hearing next week.

The 36-year-old rapper (real name: Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr.) was banned permanently from entering the UK, following an incident in April 2006 where Snoop was arrested at London's Heathrow Airport on charges of violent disorder.

He and his entourage allegedly got into a brawl with airport police, in which seven were injured.

The hip-hop heavyweight successfully appealed the ban and received entry clearance from an asylum and immigration tribunal in January 2007.

In March 2007, Snoop was forced to cancel a tour of Britain with Diddy after authorities denied him a visa.

"Snoop and his team are mystified at the decision and are hoping that the British government will reconsider this decision," his rep, Celena Aponte, said after the cancel of the March tour. "He has asked how he can help rectify the situation and would happily talk to and give assurances to the officials."

The ban in the UK seemed to spread to other countries as well. In April 2007, Snoop Dogg was denied entry into Australia, with then-Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews said the rapper "doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country."
