Similar Threads section

I always thought that the similar threads section was where threads that got certain same words in the title were that..thats what they were. but lately i've come across a few,where the similar threads section has just Random ass threads in it some nothing to do at all with the main thread youre on.

is there a set criteria for how the similar threads thing works?

Look at the bottom of the page.

EDouble, it just picks similar titles. And when there's not enough similar titles, it probably just draws words from the posts.

I think it wastes server resources. If disabled will be much better for the board.

I think its title and content of the first post... could be wrong though.

It's a pretty useless feature but every now and again you see something listed in there that makes you go "ah yeah, that was funny."

Theoretically though it should help people find info from old threads on a topic of interest... assuming we have something informative in any..... or prevent doubling up, whatever, yeah.
