Serious question.. this has been bothering me all day

Some stds can be passed to the baby...that is why they put eye drops in the babies eyes immediately after birth. I believe gonorrhea can blind a baby and other stds can give a baby a lung or eye infection, pneumonia and liver disease. But hospitals check a pregnant woman for stds so they can get treatment before the baby is born. Hiv and syphillis can pass through the placenta and infect the baby. If the woman has herpes or warts at the time of birth she would most likely have a c-section.

And it's not uncommon for a woman with an std to give birth.
800,000 women a year who give birth...have herpes.

Oh and today was hiv awareness day *my bad* It's "World aids Day"...hope u got checked.
