Who's taking them? Who took them? Anybody got any advice for the new one, regarding the essay section?

I took ethem last year... I got a 1450 (800 on math and 650 on reading)... I also took the SAT II writing, which is supposed to be harder than the new section on the SAT I's, and got a 790 on that

my advice for the math...make sure you know advanced algebra and pre-calculus...as for the essay..take a couple minutes to figure out your points and organize your ideas

^I skipped algebra, but I took pre-cal. However, I am not too fond of my math skills, I often cheated my way through tests. For the essay, do you know if writing cursive is a requirement or something? It's a rumor I heard.

AmerikazMost you got 100% on your maths part, i am sorry but that can't be, if you got a score like that you would be going to MIT or Harvard or one of those universities..its highly unlikely to get a full mark..

anyway, i took it two years ago back in highschool, my friend is taking it this year, sorry SOFISTIK i don't know how the new ones are, however i doubt that its going to be harder..especially the maths part, its mostly very basic and intuitive so don't worry about it..at the time i took it i know for sure that i was going to the UK to study so i didn't even know how the form was, still i found it pretty easy i got 710 in the maths section and 570 on the english section

So you only do two exams at high school in the US? Lucky bitches if thats right! :p

Depends on curriculum and the likes in most cases, for instance, there are three that I know of that we take here in the US:

-SATs
-ACTs
-College Board Exam

iirc none of them are required, but it's reccomended you take the ACT if you're going into college and the College Board Exam is something AP students take, if they pass they earn college credits for whatever AP course they took in HS.

^^ I did 8 Standard Grades when I was 16 and then 5 Highers when I was 17. Scotland is different even from England though so not sure what they do down there.

In England, Northern Ireland (and Wales?) they only do 3 for the A-Levels. It's fucking hard doing 8 subjects believe me, especially when you've to study History alongside something like Agricultural Science lol.

Lol. Yeah A-Levels is the equivalent to Highers. I think they do more GCSE's (Standard Grades) than us though so balances itself out.

Are the 8 subjects you're doing like A-Level/Higher equivalent? If so then yeah you're right that's a bastard!

well if that is really your score, not a fake or somebody else's, then congrats thats an excellent score, my bad :thumb:
Thanks :D

Not a fake...you can check my previous posts like that "What's your real name" thread...I posted my full name in it.

And the University of North Carolina isn't exactly an easy college to get into, especially out of state. It's a top 5 public school in the country, and my friend told me he saw it ranked as high as 15th overall somewhere.

man stfu you dont even know this guy, you are assuming he's a dumbass with your comments. those tests are nothing difficult, in fact i got a perfect 800 on math(and so did a few of my friends) as well, and a 600 and something on my english. total was around 1450.

u dont even have to study for this shit. its all the stuff u learn in high school pretty much.

SAT II isnt that much harder as well, that shit was easy.
