I'm drunk and I want to make a thread. Do me a favour, if you work in a chinese takaway, give me the recipe. Fuck KFC, Satay Sauce is the shit when mixed with fried rice, noodles, or stir frys. I bought some satay sauce from some oriental store, but its like a concentrated paste mix, too strong to be just a sauce. I tried mixing it with gravy - not bad; but I'm thinking I need to mix it with shrimp paste instead, idk. S14 I would appreciate your input on this, you're the only one that talks to me about asian cooking on here. I wish I had a job at my local chinese just so that I knew how they made it, it is my favourite chinese sauce and I don't know how how to make it ... yet.

Forget recipies with coconut milk, I already tried those. What would be good is if I could find out the suppliers of my local takaway without asking them directly, anyone have any suggestions? i really need this recipie

I used to get the KFC stuff by the box load haha. Ive found a good one recently when I can be fucked going upstairs Ill take a photo of the bottle for you. Ive made the above mix too and it is good.

What I would like to know is how to make that plum dipping sauce they serve with Yum Cha dumplings, I can never find a good version in supermarkets it's always chunky or whatever.

Your recipe looks good Rukas. I will definitely try this out. It has the basic ingredients I kinda expected, with the exception of shrimp paste (i expected to make it with) and canola oil, which I am unfamiliar with. Maybe these are what I am missing.

This is the one I buy and think it is awesome, Im out at the moment so can not check ingredients but suspect it is Coconut oil based, but it is awesome.

I never tried plum dipping sauce. Just by the sounds of it it sounds like a kind of sweet and sour sauce. If it is it would be easy to make, I am thinking sweet and sour sauce with added plums. I can make sweet & sour sauce no problem.
