Film & TV Samuel L Jackson refuses 2 act with 50 cent

HOLLYWOOD, CA (1.10.05) -- Actor Samuel L. Jackson has turned down the chance to work with one of his movie icons because the film also stars rapper 50 Cent.

Mr. Jackson, who has been extremely vocal about sharing the stage with unproven actors, says he's always wanted to work with Irish moviemaker Jim Sheridan and was thrilled when he heard he was being targeted for a new film by the director - until he realized he would be starring opposite 50 Cent in his movie debut.

"I like listening to 50 Cent and I can groove to his music but I don't want to groove to him on-screen, just yet," says Mr. Jackson, an Oscar-nominee whose new film "Coach Carter" opens Friday. "Maybe if he does five movies and he shows some talent," IrelandOnline.com quotes Mr. Jackson as saying. Apparently that edict doesn't apply to Ashanti. The hip-hop diva, who co-stars in "Carter" with Mr. Jackson, is making her big-screen debut in the film.

---- some funny shit really, glad SLJ made a stand, he knows he too good 2 b actin with people like 50 cent

this is really old news but hes right i hate it when these rap stars get roles in big movies and stuff when there is more than likely more talented struggling actors out there looking for their big break

I agree with Samuel, i don't care what rapper it is. They shouldn't just give rappers big roles in big movies when they never ever played in a movie be4 unless he can really act but 50 can't act hahah.

Pac was too young back then, he wasn't that famous and he didn't get the part because he was a rapper but because he tried out and got it

pac was not only a rapper he was an actor, he trained for that shit too in the performing arts school, he wasnt that rich back then and got the part cuz he a rapper. 2 different things right here. 50 cent aint got no acting skill, you can barely understand this fool in an interview. how do you expect him to act? did u ever hear him in an interview,he doesnt make sense, listen to that shit when he was interviewed by flex the one where he talkin bout kiss and joe, what the fuck was that lol

Samuel has always made it clear he dont agree with artists moving into acting. he thinks they are stealing work from young talented actors! if you think about it if you were one of those unknown young actors an you cant get any work but watch all these rap dudes getting parts you would be like whats this shit all about!

Yeah I think Sam's got a point. After all the years he's put in to become a star & then rappers just walk in, often talentless.

He is being hypocrite although, with that said, he's also cooler than cool
