Saigon mad at what Hip-Hop has become, blames Lil Wayne

lol, that's not what he said at all. kids sagging their pants have nothing to do with why he left atlantic, nor why he's embarassed by hiphop.

i get what he's saying, but he should have taken the final advice himself. the shit is dead.

^Yeah, I didn't watch the interview, I just went by what Caesar said.

Got deceived by the description a little bit.

Saigon isn't blaming Lil Wayne or saying kids are stupid for wearing tight pants, he's actually saying that since kids are wearing tight pants BECAUSE of certain rappers, that these rappers have a lot of power over their audience and they're not taking that into consideration in their music. Also, that kids are getting caught in imagery that hip hop is portraying with this talk of lavish lifestyles and such.

Basically, if you can get a kid to dress like you, why not get a kid to stop gangbanging, shit like that.

forget the tight pants, WTF happened to the good music? I blame the fall of Death Row Records. If they were on top rap would be much better..and the beats too ofcourse.

Just wanted to correct what I said earlier. When I said the shit is dead, I basically meant that Saigon can't just make good hip-hop. He's got some really nice tracks, but they're just good to me because I like hip-hop, and especially older hip-hop. He's just a good rapper, but mainstream hip-hop today is about something else. You can no longer just make a cool track with a fat beat and witty rhymes to get airplay, you need to have something catchy and poppy. So Saigon can keep it true and shit, but that means his chances of breaking through are pretty minimal.

Wtf happened to good music? It all sucks these days!

Based on when? Since the fall of Death Row? That's when? I'll just guess it's around 1997.

So, what you folks are telling me is that since that time, there hasn't been any good Hip Hop music? Gettatahere!!!

What good music are we talking about? The Chronic? Doggystyle? Nuthin But A G Thang? California Love? Those albums/songs are great, they are classics in my book and they stand-out from the rest of the 100s of music that were released in that era. But I don't think they shit all over the best of what this era has to offer. Jeezy and T.I. for example - they aren't too far off Snoop Doggy Dogg from back in the day.

Perhaps, some people put their favorite albums on a pedestal that they can't reach. I don't think I could compare Illmatic to another or Ready To Die to All Eyez On Me. You'll never find anything if you keep looking for "1996 Death Row Hip Hop" or "The next Tupac".

Ya there's some good music. You have to keep in mind that new music that's innovative takes time to getting used to. I love old hip-hop, but it's only a year, a year and a half maybe, since I started to appreciate how hip-hop is branching out. I still don't like Kanye's new album, imo hip-hop artists should work more on flow and lyrical content and flow than vocal tone, but maybe it'll grow on me eventually. But I can dig me some new sounding hip-hop though.

Either my joke went over my head or you got it and responded to it literally anyway. :amazed:
