Oil needs to be drilled, destroying the ecosystem of the area (dredging kills the life there as well), it has to be transferred somehow, pipes ruin migration patterns of certain animals (at least in the prairies they do), then it gets transported by ship that has the possibility to spill causing the death of animals, then when the oil is used it released tons of CO2 which will lead to the death of billions of animals. So if you care about the life of animals you will have to stop driving your car and switch to solar power, if you won't you're a hypocrite
