Phantom's umbrella in the door vs. Maybach's airplane recliner seats and built-in refrigerator... it looks like some people want the umbrella pretty badFataldawg said:It even comes with an umbrella in the door![]()
And the Continental GT has no point to it. TopGear was right, you want the Flying Spur. Much better package.Duke said:Aye, the Spur looks damn good for a 4 door saloon (better than the GT imo anyway) and would almost be my car of choice as decadence mobile, were it not for Maybachs.
Still, it must be fun doing 300+ in a big, hefty 4 door saloon like that. To my knowledge the only 4 door (in production at least) that'll go that fast.

Duke said:you''d have to rip off the limiters first, tho, but yeah they definitely have the potential.

True... and keep in mind that those engines are still restrained due to the transmission not being able to handle more torque. With the same engine but without the ECU limiting boost paired with a suitable transmission that can handle more torque (7-speed DSG in the Veyron, perhaps?), I'm sure that a fully unleashed AMG V-12 can clear 210 mph, depending on which Benz the motor is in along with its aerodynamics.C.R.Y. said:the ones that really suffer are the SL65, S65, and CL65 because they have crazy potential and are the performance versions. those things are really capable and are held back. i can imagine going from a standstill and running all the way to 155mph only to feel like i hit a wall. especially knowing it can do more![]()
