Technology ROCKSTAR reveals MAX PAYNE 3!, coming this winter!

New York, NY – March 23, 2009 – Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce that Max Payne 3 is currently in development and scheduled for a winter 2009 release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and PC. Developed by Rockstar Vancouver, Max Payne 3 tells the story of a retired police detective embroiled in a world of corruption, turmoil and intense violence.

The award-winning Max Payne franchise put players in the role of Max Payne, a hard-boiled New York City detective with a penchant for violence, out to avenge the death of his family. The latest installment delivers more of the classic elements and hyper-intense action that fans have come to love, while moving the story of Max in a new direction.

"We’re starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation."

Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out.

I agree. I think if they come out with a new GTA thats exclusive to PS3, their sales will skyrocket. Hopefully it will remain in Vice City or San Andreas.

^^yes there is a new GTA add-on and it is exclusive to xbox 360. so is the next add-on. how would having GTA exclusive to PS3 make their sales skyrocket?do you think that they should bring out separate GTA IV add-ons for PS3 or do you mean that they should have every future GTA game exclusive to PS3(yea that would certainly make sales skyrocket:unsure? I guess they signed an agreement with Microsoft to make these add ons exclusive for Xbox 360.

GTA-Chinatown Wars for the DS looks great. im gonna get that.

story wise this game is wack as fuck. so he leaves new york to find himself in a new city of blood and violence? and as if he wasn't as low as a person can fall in max payne 2, he's somehow even more cynical now?

they are not even TRYING to make it interesting. here's an idea for max payne 4: max is even more cynical, so cynical and depressed in fact he throws himself into a time machine set to the dinosaur age. the machine fails and sends him back to the start of max payne 2, and you get to relive it with improved graphics!

I really, really wish the new gta game will yet again take place in vice city. It had an unbelievably cool vibe. A new, refreshed vice city with current gen graphics would look lovely. It's sad that most gaming companies these days prefer grey and depressing sceneries. Even though I dislike racing games I still enjoy Test Drive Unlimited or Farcry even though I don't like shooters of that kind.
