FUNNYMAN Robin Williams is seeking treatment for alcoholism, it was revealed last night.
The Mrs Doubtfire star's publicist Mara Buxbaum said Williams - who had been sober for 20 years - "found himself drinking again and has decided to take proactive measures".
Her statement added that Williams aims: "To deal with this for his own well-being and the well-being of his family.
"He looks forward to returning to work this autumn to support his upcoming film releases."
Buxbaum declined to comment on the exact nature of the treatment.
Williams, 55, stars in Man of the Year, which is due for release in October.
His voice is also used for an animated penguin in Happy Feet, to be released in November.
Williams won an Oscar for his supporting role in 1997's Good Will Hunting after shooting to fame as an alien in hit TV sitcom Mork and Mindy
