Riot in Montreal?

Aimless rioting with no end result but a few burnt police vehicles you paid for and a few bruises from rubber bullets you paid for and tears from gas you paid for followed by looting is a great way to potentially lose your life. It's great fun.

There's much more to it.
Montreal North now is in a certain 'gang-war' which the Italian mob is included. All the shops that were destroyed were Italian shops, except for 1.

This Croat I know who lived down the street of the riots said the next day after the riot. 5 Escalades from NYC including some with Italian flags were spotted entering the area. As you know, the Italian mafia in Montreal has close ties with the families in NYC, not saying that's what it is with those Caddies, but you catch my drift.

As for the cop. It was a female, who probably felt intimidated and pulled the trigger too quickly. If she was a big 300 lbs man, believe you me. He wouldn't have been as quick to pull the trigger.

Expect a lot more violence once the 2 cops get acquitted. :)

"the low-income housing units"

"The park is in a predominantly Haitian neighbourhood where tensions between police and young people run high, according to residents."

"The police are always creeping around here, hassling people,"

Just reading those, is it any surprise that a riot is going on, you never once thought it would eventually happen.

Not surprised at all.

It did happen in an area where people are mostly poor immigrants. Montreal North has its rich side and its poor side. This happening in the poor once. But there were always racial tensions over there. I have worked in that area before, not all people are nice. I'd get weird looks sometimes when I was walking like f I didn't belong there.

It sucks that this happened. They say Quebecers are racists. As I was discussing with a colleague today, populations have been discriminated before are always going to be more on self defense more and discriminate others. Black discriminate white, the whole English Canada discriminates Quebec, Quebecois discriminates immigrants. All that to "protect" their cultures... or so they say.

Yeah I saw some video about Calgary I think and them being all racist not letting minorities into bars. Canada seems like it has a lot of underlying racial tension, except places like Toronto I'm assuming just based on the fact it's a major major city and a lot of different ethnicities are there. Is a riot still going on or is it pretty dead now.

Well guess what? That poor female cop was in the hospital all this time.

One kid was holding the female cop in a headlock, while a bunch of other kids were kicking her.

The other cop cracked a few shots and hit a kid.

So who's the blame now?

Also, kid was shot 3 times. Case of a nervous, unexperienced cop?

I didn't know she was at the hospital Didn't really check the news.

Most probably inexperienced nervous cop but they need to get their experience somewhere right?

I still think the cop shouldn't have used his gun, but the kids shouldn't have attacked the female cop either. I mean if you attack a cop, what do you expect? If they are 5-6 young adults again 2 cops, I think the 2 cops were allowed to be nervous and to fear for their death especially if the female cop was getting kicked like that, which gives them the right to use their guns.

So basically they were protecting their lives, if only the latinos and blacks of Montreal North understood that. If they would have been in the cops' place they would have done the same, that's for sure.

The cops could have avoided the whole situation, what are they thinking running up in a large crowd all high and mighty. You could argue that cops should be able to do that cus they are cops, but when you are a young adult harrassed daily you lose that key element for a cop to be able to do that, respect.
