i'm curious to know if anyone can tell me how to retrieve something that has been deleted. i had my computer on to download a movie while i was out at work (using a torrent, and i use the program Flashgot, a firefox add-on for FlashGet) and by the time i got home it was finished. i removed the torrent from the download/upload section, which places it in the deleted section of flashgot, but does not remove the file from your computer. but after that i inexplicably (and stupidly) deleted it from the deleted files page, which DOES delete the file. the strange thing is, though, when you delete files directly from flashget they don't end up in the recycle bin, they just seem to disappear, so i want to know if anyone knows how to get the file back. where do files go when they're deleted from the hard drive? i know they are retrievable, i just have no idea how to do it.
edit: i downloaded a program called smart undelete, but was still unsuccessful in finding the file. it found files i deleted months ago, but it can't find one that i deleted less than 2 hours ago :sad:
