well considering that when things are changed here, theres usually an announcement made about it, it doesnt seem fair that this wasn't announced. it almost seems like you guys were purposely sneaky about it and didn't want to tell people about it. and as far as the first part of your post here, those people are "poor" posters? says who? the purpose of the rep system was to rep people for posts they made that you liked. if you didn't like so and so's posts, they automatically are poor posters to you? well obviously some people disagreed with you, otherwise they wouldn't have as many reps as they did.

It's not shady or sneaky, lol. No announcement was needed. It's obvious they are gone and you don't need to do anything. There wasn't an announcement when the option to change your name was removed. Announcements are only made when new options are brought in.


As for Poor posters. That's why I put " ", as I'd conclude as did all the people I spoke to, that they were poor posters. But they probably wouldn't agree.

I've spent enough time on this issue, it's done. They're gone.

I find it funny people would waste time stragezing on how to neg rep people to get them banned(screams nerdy), and to think I had just made the 10,000 points mark....oh well it's all good I still, to this day, do not know what is the importance(you win something, someone gives you props well they can do that in the thread) of reps. Although I woudln't mind getting them back, I won't care either way although I did make sure to thank everyone who repped me as well as repped those who earned it based on the knowledge/truth they dropped

To be fair to "the mafia" D), i didn't notice anyone of worth being banned. It was a way of self policing but what defines "correct use" of the rep system?

Maybe part of the fault lies with the users, part with VBB. It didn't work so it's gone. I never took much notice of it anyway.

i never really got the point behind "reps." This guy has a ton of green dots, some other guy doesn't have any at all...who gives a shit? Just as long as they have something to significant to say, that's all that should really matter.

I have to admit at one point I had an arguement with some guy named Diaz over some bullshit (wasn't a big deal at all) and he and some other people went nuts giving me negative reps. I really couldn't understand why I was getting these reps except for their comments "you're a fag." I didn't think much of it and moved on, but some other board members noticed this was happening to me and gave me positive reps simply to make sure I didn't get banned. So to reflect on that event, I can understand why they were eliminated.

No, because negative reps aren't the only problem. There are alot of people that just rep posts for really no reason, just because they like the person that made the post.

BTW - i agree with the guy who posted just before. i get into an argument with i think it was KAMIKAZE and i get a shitload of neg reps from bigmack, KAMI et al.. The neg repping was definitely abused.

Haha yeah net rep doesn't matter. People will still recognize you if you contribute good posts. With that said i think something should replace those dots underneath our screen names. It just looks bare without anything under there. Streethop logo perhaps? Just something at the very least.

Well, I liked them,but if that was going on, then the reason that the points are gone makes sense. I hardly ever neg repped anyone, so I figured other people really didn't either.

But really, a lot of the people here are minors and that's what kids do. They run in groups and pick on people that they don't like.

But I mean, it wasn't just the kids or just the people who I know everyone is assuming that it is. I know some very well respected and liked members who are probably assumed to be "mature" who have sent me IM's asking me to rep them.

Just FYI for all the people who are saying it's Kami, Diaz, and Mack. I'm not saying they're innocent because obviously I don't know. However, I do know that they weren't the only ones taking advantage of the rep system so it's not fair to single them out.
