Do you believe in it?
Honestly I think it is the biggest bullshit I have ever heard...
I don't believe we have a soul I don't believe in after life I don't believe in God
2 days ago i was listening to the radio and a woman called in to talk about her experiences in her other lifes...She was once was a rabbit ..She even had a sexchange She was once a young boy but died when she 15...The DJ asked her if she only lived in The Netherlands and she answered no..She said she lived in Palistina around the time of Jesus and she Jewish herself too..but she said it was a bit vague and she doesn't remember much of it..Ok my bullshit alarm started ringin when she said that...The DJ asked her 1 more question...He asked if she had only lived on this planet..The woman again answered no and she said she also lived on VENUS...I started laughin out loud when I heard that...
Okay, first I want to agree with you that "reincarnation" is complete bullshit. And, when you think about it, a ton of shit that people believe is complete bullshit. I mean, people's beliefs tend to arise, predominantly, from their upbringings, their environments and their life experiences. And growing up, you are immediately fed complete crocks of shit over and over. Of course, you're young and you don't know anything about the world and you have no real experiences and you're not educated or intelligent enough to take in the information you're being told and confirm it as rational before you accept it. On the contrary, most of this shit is naturally accepted by the majority of people. I guess what I'm getting at here is I've become skeptical (you might even say cynical) of a ton of shit that I believed when I was younger. If you were to ask me a list of ten questions right now about religion and other beliefs, my responses would be radically different from what my responses would have been just two years ago.
Now that I am 24, I have basically established this one simple fact about life: Life is hard, incredibly hard. Even for rich, beautiful people who have everything they could possibly want. People could not make it through their plight and to the end of their lives without believing in something great after death, whether that be a "paradise" some call heaven some kind of reincarnation, an immortality of some kind because the idea of just being a corpse in the ground is a tough pill to swallow. For those who are willing to live their lives without these beliefs tend to get fooled into believing the more sinister side of it all - that there will be a punishment lasting for all eternity in "hell" for those who refuse to accept whatever bullshit a particular kind of religion is trying to feed you. And on what is this fear based? Absolutely nothing. There is no more evidence that places such as Heaven and Hell exist as there is that a bookshelf can be taught to fly. But when you're raised believing these things, when you need these beliefs in your life to keep you pressing on, to feel as though all the good you're doing will be worthwhile, it's easy to see why the majority of the world embraces these ridiculous ideas.
I want to be clear that these are just my beliefs and I am not trying to criticize anyone's religion. I was raised by a strict Catholic mother and it has taken me a great deal of time to take a step out of the religious spotlight and really use my reason and my logic to pick these ideas and notions apart.
Furthermore, the conclusions aforementioned that I have come to do not mean to suggest that I don't believe in God. Nor do they even necessarily mean that I do not believe in some kind of an afterlife. It is only to declare that if there is, in fact, an afterlife, we cannot know it exists.
Sorry that was so long, such a big topic.
