Red Sox sign Tavarez

Julian Tavarez and the Red Sox have agreed to a two-year deal with a vesting option, according to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.
This comes as quite a surprise. No financial terms yet, but Tavarez will likely to command at least $4 million per season. His addition might mean that Guillermo Mota will be moved in a deal for a center fielder or a shortstop. Jan. 11 - 3:38 pm et

i think its just more depth in the bullpen...who do the sox have now?? tavarez, mota, .....myers??? dunno teams depth charts that well....


the red sox got mota for nothing, so i guess he is expendable...but why?? he should have a good year this year....what motivation could one have had last year playing for florida...will all those hurricanes and what not....whatever....its just more depth..

cubs may not win the division...but they'll beat the astros....

and how have the cards improved over last year??? rolen's back??? we beat them in 03 when they had rolen....

cubs have, juan pierre, carlos zambrano, two setup guys that are gonna do really good in eyre and howry, aramis ramirez, an allstart...derek lee, and not being like the rest of the cubbies fans, i see him for what he is, a consistent hitter, not a 370 hitter, but hovering around 100 rbis....


i'd say prior and wood, but that'd be too hard to prove right now, but i have a feeling, this season, at least one of them will break out of the shit they're in right now, and have an incredible year...


the cards also have isringhausen.....but we have dempster....so...
