Just got this, have only listened to 3 tracks so far but it's sounding pretty good.

Anyone else heard it yet?

You're making Flea cry.

I know, I read that story. I have taken the inferior MP3 sound quality in to consideration when determining whether I like the album or not.

Very, VERY disappointing. Something happened during the Californication sessions, and has carried over into the band's last two records. The Peppers have lost their edge. I'm not hating, it happens to every band eventually, but a band like the Peppers can't survive with 20+ out of 28 tracks of EXTREMELY subdued music, not to mention I don't like double records anyway, so 28 tracks is too much to sift through. I'm not knocking them for making mellow tracks, but there's a difference between "Under the Bridge", "My Friends", "Scar Tissue", and whatever they're doing on this record.

That being said, I do like "Desecration Smile" a lot.

They definately lost their edge, but that was bound to happen. And I agree, a double-disc for a band that are probably past their prime is a bit ambitious.

Hmm... I have to disagree with KanDeeMan and Militant, past their prime? I thought the album was great, infact I haven't stopped listening to it since I got it. These guys grew up, they are in their 40's, they got more mature, they have famlies now, and the maturity reflects in their music. By the way, "Turn It Again" has what I think is the best John F. solo ever.

I been listening to the album & my absolute fave is Hard to concentrate. Other tracks that I been listnn to as well are: Hey, Snow, and she looks to me. I've never been a hardcore fan of red hot, just enjoyed a few of their tracks from the past eg: Otherside, scar tissue...but I been enjoyin their music some more now.

Dani California is a fav song of mine after the 10 - 20 times I saw the music video on muchmusic. Hows the rest of the album like?
