MATW alternate version on Bad Boys sndk

so i was bored procrastinating my departure for work and i popped in the test press promo cassette i have for the bad boys soundtrack (at the time this test cassette was created the movie was to called bad boy status) and loe and behold the matw version on it is the album version. not sure how exactly they managed to get the alternate version on the retail release, but it very well could have been a mistake. oh well good for us.

what exactly is different about the retail one, why is it an alternate?

Easy way to check for any differences is to look at the whole track time if theirs a 2-5 second difference then it'll probably be an alternative version or a craply encoded version of the same song.

I'm confused by these quotes.

Did you get what Dante was saying?

The version on the bad boy soundtrack is different to the other versions of MATW. Buy the album and check it out.

He listened to the promo for the Bad Boys album and the track was the album version. Meaning the alternate version wasn't initially intended.

Yes I just making a point not to expect all alternative versions to have a different instrumental or a slightly different instrumental with different instances, first things first check the tracks full play time then the vocals.

that's a good idea if you're talking cd rips, but not vinyl and tape rips because they are as long as you make them lol. all depends on where you cut it.

or what bpm you play them at too there's normally a few seconds between each song anyway all you have to do is load up the wave form listen an cut the silence.
