Hey, did anyone try it?

It's pretty funny - you can look up at the lyrics of any song and elaborate on each "metaphor" in rappers' lyrics. They are usually moderated and usually serious, but sometimes they are ridiculous.

Explanation of the song:

Directly threatening murder on specific individuals. In this song, 2Pac and the Outlawz threaten to kill Biggie, Puff Daddy, Lil Cease, and Mobb Deep; call Lil' Kim ugly and Biggie fat; and say fuck you to just about everybody and their mamas

I especially lolled at:
"Little Ceasar go ask you homie how I'll leave you
Cut your young ass up, see you in pieces
Now be deceased"

It should be noted that this is a direct threat of violence against Lil Cease

"Bad Boys murdered on wax and killed"

2Pac will “murder” (outperform) you “on wax” (a musical track) and then murder you again (literally!) in real life.

2Pac must have listened to 12th Century Persian Poet Mawlana Rumi, who teaches that the way to limit aggression is to express it through music

"Puffy weaker than the fuckin' block I'm running through, nigga"

Hussein “runs” (hangs out) with people who are stronger than Puff Daddy

This line might have motivated P. Diddy to “run the city”, in order to get in better shape

I took that song seriously, and disliked all those people because Tupac was dissing them. LOL. I sucked as a 14 year old.

I made a mistake in the thread title though. I was almost convinced that the website had a pun in it ("genious") while in fact it did not. The correct address is rapgenius.com.

Anyway, when I was a teenager I also disliked all of those rappers. I'm not pround of it but I might have written "fuck bad boy" on one wall (in real life, not on Facebook). Oh, I'm so ashamed now.

It's a pretty solid site overall. You'll come across mistakes, but they're pretty on top of putting up lyrics for everything, even retarded freestyles by Tyga. I've contributed a few explanations on some songs (not Tupac) myself. It's super funny how some people miss the most common sense stuff.
