Rap Beef. Like Or Dislike?

Simple question. Do you like or dislike rap beef? Give your reasons why also.

Me personally, I like it to a certain extent. First of all, I don't like it when it turns violent. At the end of the day, you gotta realize it's music. I know everyone wants to be a gangsta and that's whatever I guess. I like to hear competitive hip hop music personally. More than anything. That's why i'm a big fan of battling probably. I like the competitive nature. Obviously the Big and Pac thing got out of hand. That's the kind of beef I don't like. The Jay and Nas shit could of gotten out of hand, but fortunately it never did. It was dope to hear them go at each other on wax though.

As far as shit like 50 Cent just dissing a new person each week.. that I don't like or care for. I don't really wanna hear 50 going at anybody to begin with, let a lone a new person every week. Fuck that whole East vs. West shit too.

Some dope records I enjoyed were from Canibus vs. LL, Jay vs. Nas, Common vs. Ice Cube, Ice Cube vs. Cypress Hill, BDP vs. Juice Crew. Just to name a few.

Definitely like it. It's all about the competition though, once it goes gimmick forget it.

I really like when it isn't so known also, isn't declared like this person is battlin this person, the subliminal shit.

The whole Kanye and 50 thing going on right now I actually like. It's definitely different, but it also brings competition back. I'm actually looking forward to see who sells more, I'm going to care about sales that week, it's crazy.

They haven't actually dissed each other though, right? They're just dropping their albums on the same day and are being competitive about it? I remember 50 saying he'll quit rapping (right?) if Kanye outsells him. Something like that.

Yeah they haven't dissed each other at all. It really isn't "beef" so to say but it's nice to see some competition going on in Rap today, even if it is about sales. Yeah 50 said he wouldn't make another solo ablum if Kanye outsells him, which is just hype talk if you ask me or anyone really.

Yeah I like rap beefs for the most part because it tends to bring out the best in people in terms of lyrics and creativity because they are so pumped about what they're saying. However, I can't stand pointless beefs that really go nowhere like when 50 decides to diss Jadakiss or whatever and then go on to someone else the next week. That's just retarded.

i like rap beef as long as it stays on the record and doesnt get violent. it's just music folks. 50 gets a little outta hand w/ all the people he disses but w/ murder inc that shit was funny. it's just nice to see people go head to head and see who comes out on top and says the funnier shit.
