We don't actually know he killed 4 people. That's what
the government wants us to believe. Let it had been a white dude his ass would been granted clemency real quick!

They should finally kill the terminator!

He killed a clerk at 7-eleven. A hotel owner, his wife, and their daughter. Judges looked at his case 40 times over the past 26 years and still he is found guilty.

Not only that but if you're gonna execute someone for their crimes then execute the man that he was at the time of his crimes, the guy spent nearly half his life in prison and clearly reformed, I really don't know why he had to spend 24 years locked up only to be executed at the end.

Tookie deserved life in prison, not this.

Agreed. I feel the same way.

Ofcourse it had a pretty acronym its cause was originally pretty. But like any organisation or government once power is gained curruption will begin. Tookie started something he couldnt control. Einstein created E=Mc2 which led to the A-Bomb being created, should we then hold Einstein accountable for the death of those in Nagasaki and Hiroshima?

RIP Stanley Williams you did a lot for our country and our world. Thank you for showing the lost youth the way home.
RIP to everyone fallen to gang violence.

African oppression still exists in this country! Use Tookie's example and you can improve things!

"That @#%$ ain’t cool. If you got people like Tookie and Mike Conception, real gang members who started the gangs and then telling to stop doing that, it’s not cool, put the guns down. Then why some little rapper’s gonna come out and try and glorify it when the dude who started, the dude who really killed nine people, is telling you it’s not cool, that’s not a way to live."

~peace~

This is where you're gettin caught up in the 'romance' of the myth, it was a GANG initially, not some sort of neighbourhood watch sceme.

Is it really that hard to beleive? If its intent from the moment it was created was to cause senseless violence then sure, but I dont beleive you or anyone else has evidence of that. The Panthers were originally a neighbourhood watch and look what happened to them? Things escalate thats just the way things go.

So the IRA "escalated", as did Al-Qaida. If i start a fire and it blazes out of control, it's my fault, even if i didn't mean it to get that big. It's called accepting responsibility.

Your last line of "That's just the way things go" is so short sighted it's untrue. That's the way they go if you let them or don't think them through.

R.I.P. to Tookie.

Confessing to those murders wouldve given him a big chance for clemency but he held on to his innocence until the end, so I cant help but think that he was telling the truth. I was watching CNN after he was executed and there was an lawyer (or attorney) with evidence that some other gangstas snitched with false allegations about on Tookie so they they would receive a lesser sentence or a pardon...but the court and the Terminator chose to disregard it. Other than hearsay, they had no physical evidence of him doing those crimes or DNA tests or no videotape footage, and so if he was found guilty, I dont see why he didnt get a life sentence. I cant even stand to look at Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He needed to be stopped from writing any more bad children's books. That was his crime, in my eyes.

Setting a fire with the intent to do some damage and going on to cause alot of damage is different to setting one for warmth right? So if the crips were set up for protection in the beggining its different to setting it up purely for destruction. Also I think Tookie did accept responsibility for starting the Crips, thats what his LIFE was about during his prison time.
What I meant by thats the way things go was that with power comes curruption, do you agree? Well thats just my point the crips got power and then became currupt.

^^^I agree that with power comes the potential for corruption.

The point i'm arguin with the fire analogy is that you must accept responsibilty if somethin DOES get out of hand. You gotta have the foresight to realise how what your doin may turn sour.

If i made a fire for warmth and i didn't control it, it got out of hand and burnt down the building i was in, that's my fault. Just as Tookie did with the Crips. I'd have to accept responsibility, he would too.
