slowly all the real great comedians are passing. shows ya how lifes fast.

ah God, this is tragic news. man, i'm in mourning still:*( Carlin was my all time favorite comedian. he turned words into art and made us look at words (well, seven in particular) and the world around us in a different light. imo there aren't many social commentary comedians who can be thought-provoking AND ridiculously funny but Carlin was the master at this, he could make you laugh and think at the same time.

some of my favorite bits:

"I would like to bring you up to date in the comedian's health sweepstakes. As it stands right now, I lead Richard Pryor in heart attacks 2 to 1. However, Richard still leads me 1 to nothing on burning yourself up! Well, the way it happened was, first Richard had a heart attack, then I had a heart attack. Then Richard burned himself up, and I said 'fuck that, I'm gonna have another heart attack!'"

"You got fuckin' and killin', and I say let's change the words around. If language is our servant, let's put the sumbitch to work! Let's call fuckin' killin' and killin' fuckin' for about a month and a half... anywhere you see 'em, movies would be great. 'Better get down off that horse, Sheriff, we're fixin' to fuck you now!' 'What's this? Mass fucker still on the loose!' 'Man fucks 3, self!' 'I think we got him now, he made his first big mistake. He fucked a cop! He's a cop fucker now! every cop in the state will be looking for him!' 'Hey guys, my horse broke his leg, I'm gonna go fuck him, I'll be right back!' 'Shamu the fucker whale!'"

(On his original 7 words list) "Now motherfucker came off the list immediately, the first day in fact. I had a call from an English language purist... He says motherfucker is a duplication of the word fuck technically, because fuck is the root form, motherfucker being derivative, therefore it constitutes duplication. and I said 'Hey motherfucker, how did you get my phone number anyway?!'"

"They have interesting phrases at the airport... 'get on the plane, get on the plane.' Fuck you, I'm getting IN the plane!"

and so many more i can't even begin to list all the times he made me laugh. RIP George, comedy will never, ever, EVER be the same.

now i remember where i saw him...he was on that childrens show shining time station or whtever..i watched that show growing up man damn......thomas the train and those kids at the train station...i used to like that show as a kid...i remmeber missing school in like grade 1 or 2 and that show used to be on TV around 10am...damn man....RIP again george

dude was an original. one of the first people show me how important it is to actually think for yourself. my favorite is the time when he broke down the 10 ten commandments into 2 commandments. Genius.
