A rock band formed in 1980 fronted by the one and only Michael Stipe, going by a name which is an acronym for sleep activity (Rapid Eye Movement). By the early '90s, REM became one of the world's most popular, respected, and influential bands.

Kurt Cobain was a fan and wanted to record with Stipe before his untimely demise.

I personally am a fan and have many of their records/albums. Songs of which are my favourite: Nightswimming, The One I Love, Texacarna ... and many more.

I like them all right. Don't listen to them much now. Too much of their stuff has a sameness to it. A good sameness, but a sameness nevertheless. And his voice can get monotonous. But an influential band worth being familiar with.

Anyway, REM is one of my favourite bands of all time, i don't like their recent stuff as much as i like their older stuff, but they're still up there in my books.

Yeah i like REM. One of the few "pop" bands i like. They got their own thing going. My dad has a couple of their albums.
