quick, tell me how long a sprained thumb takes to heal

it takes 2 to 3 days for the bleeding to stop in an injuiry site, during this time you should ice the it for 20 minutes every 2 hours, keep it elevated apply a compression bandage and protect it from further injuiry,

after the bleeding has stoped you should apply heat to the area again for 20 minutes and use some light massage to remove the products on immflamation, also at this stage you should move the thumb through the range of minimal discomfort !!NOT PAIN!! to restore mobility, this stage can last up to a week for an injuiry like this, when you feel that the swelling has gone and you have full range of movement, you can slowley start to reintroduce your normal activity's, and you should find that your thumb is as good as new in the shortest possible time (but you should see a physio to make sure there were no other injuires associated with this one, e.g fracture or tendon or ligament tear)
 
the question shouldn't be how long it takes to get better, rather if it affects the type of work you do. if your a builder like me, then a day off would be appropriate. however if you do office work then it's all good to go.

its been a week and it kinda healed up a bit the first couple of days then it just seems to have stopped healing past that point. its still swollen a bit. im a baker, and iv still been working lightly.

a dude at work told me to start using it and ignore the pain til the body tells it to heal, but his obviously a bit of a nutcase so i didnt listen to him
