Could som1 tell me what this file is:

C:\Windows\System32\dmonw.exe


Whenever i run the antivirus,it always comes up as a reading error for this file.Why is that?

Google turned up nothing, so there's a chance it's a virus. A lot of viruses create files with random filenames.

I checked the file's properties and it was created on the 20th of august 2001.I got my computer in december 2001,so it must be some system file.I wonder why the antivirus cant read it.

Boot in safe mode and scan the file with a virus scanner, see if still says it can't read it.

You can use Kaspersky's Online file scanner.

Use both. Make sure you're in safe mode before using your own virus scanner.

I would hope not, but don't make posts like that in the future. Someone might end up taking your advice and fucking up their PC even more, and then I'd have to be the one to fix it.

I took ur advice tennis_dog and deleted it.Why would i listen to Illuminattile,he doesnt know shit.Anyway i deleted and computer crashed and now all my stuff is gone.

Just kiddin,i took ur advice Illuminattile and did what u said.When i scanned the file didnt even appear in the lod.Now the file is gone.I didnt delete it.I dunno where it went.
