i'm back from a class on drugs, it's great to know the origins, effects and stats but still i was wondering...why the hell sometime in mankind's history someone thought about smoking mushrooms?

ive put crushed up magic mushrooms in a joint before. tasted like shit but it got us pretty fucked up
i don no, i think a better question is y someone decided to eat them. like look how gross those things look
u can go pretty far with this, i mean why would anybody smoke a leaf of majuana, like who looked at the plant and was like yo i bet that shit gets u fucked up....
Wat i wanna know is who the hell woulda ever thought of drying up a dead frog, crushing it up, and smoking it to get high.

Because they didn't have stereotyped drugs back then. No one knew the effects, what it tasted like. For numerous years we all know what certain drugs are for and how your body reacts to the substance, back then it was all so new....the good ole days

I know what your saying, if i saw those things sprouting out of the ground, i probably wouldnt go any where near them, let alone try and smoke them. But the only reason i say that is because i already know what they are...that is the problem, everyone knows what they are now, no one knew back then, everything was too new.
The possibilities of soms "magic mushrooms" are known to Man since a long time. "Back in the day" when we didnt have skyscrapers and cars and all that fancy shit, and still foraged for berries, carrots and shot at deer, mushrooms were on the menu, known as edible or poisoinous or whatever. And of some they knew that they got you "very different". In fact, i believe there are accounts of Celtic warriors somtimes consuming them before battle, to gain "courage".
But really, it's not that hard to imagine humans know what plants "do".
