I'm switching my car insurance over to Geico, went to fill out the app. and got to the part where they ask you to tell them every ticket you've recieved in the past 5 years including seatbelts and minor violations... In otherwords any ticket at all..

I've gotten madddddd tickets for things like illegal modifications (my muffler on my old car), obstruction of view(sticker across my windshield), and a few others that DONT involve any points.. Tickets you just pay and forget about..

My question is, do those types of tickets go on your actual driving record? And will they find them when they do the check? I know if I list all those tickets on my app. my premiums are gonna be nuts since each one I mention will probaly raise it by 20+ bucks a month... I really dont wanna list em if they'll never find out about em... anyone know?

geico is only good insurance for people who have fucked up driving records and histories of accidents. try places like state farm and more industry accepted companies. geico is like the kia of insurance companies.

lol @ kia.. I'm actually with State Farm now but everyone always talks about Geicos low rates, and insurance is insurance isnt it? I mean, they all do the same thing.. Or is their a real difference?

Living in Ohio, i just recently recieved a speeding ticket. that ticket when on my point system. three more violations then i would lose my license for up to 6 months. a 2nd offense then a year. a 3rd offense then i would lose my license period.

I wouldnt think the small stuff would count. (The muffler, an sticker,an so on). The insurance companys just look at the speeding tickets, an if youve been in accidents.

tell geico a few of your violations, but not all of them. You might wind up having a high premium anyway because of your age. when you turn 26 thru 28 then it should go down.

Good Luck with That.

are you saying geico is korean?

It would be dumb to tell them things you are not sure they will find out about. If you know a speeding ticket put what you know.
Personally I never fill that out honestly cus they will run a check anyway and find out so it really doesnt matter. If they say anything its not hard to be like I didnt remember. Id shop aorund for insurance too.

^ how much do you pay a month?

Right now I pay $264 a month for full coverage on a '04 Toyota Solara v6 SE (Its still slow)... I have a pretty wild driving record though.. Past 3 years I've had 2 accidents (1 was my fault), 2 speeding tickets, 1 careless driving tickets, and a reckless driving ticket (they gave that to me cuz the accident with my old car).. Went to court for all of them and got them dropped to the point minimums, otherwise I probaly woulda had my license suspended.

^ thats not too bad. I pay $209.66 (CDN) minimum coverage. If i have full coverage on my car we'd be looking at like $500+. They say you'll save 10% on your car insurance if you switch to Geico, so that like 30 bucks a month. Try www.progressive.com.
