lazie said:If Johnny J remixed the original Breathing, why didn't he use the actual acapella for the track? It's quite apparent that Bizzy's verse is better quality than Pac's verse. I've heard repeatedly over the years that some DJ did the remix, but I cannot remember the name.
kingdizzy said:he did use it, you have to keep in mind that pacs verse is old so its not going to sound as crisp. it was also on a dj kayslay mixtape about 2 years later after its debut
GhostOfRazgriz said:yea it would surprise me if its unfinished because catchin feelins and pacs life were the same way. id say most likely the reason they werent finished was because guest artists had verses they had to rap and write, and pac was just waitin on them.
I'm not making it up... I can't remember who said it but I remember it being a reliable source, otherwise I wouldn't say it.kingdizzy said:who the hell told you that??? quit making up bullshit
lazie said:That's interesting. I guess that I didn't realize that the vocal quality would degrade so quickly as compared to other tracks. Since you seem to know quite a bit about Confessions, who did not give approval for the track? I always thought that it was Seals and Croft since Confessions samples Summer Breeze. Bizzy remarked that Seals and Croft disliked Rap, so they did not approve a sample for his album. I always thought that the sample was Confessions... Do you know if that's correct?
kingdizzy said:yea, even though its an isley brothers sample, the isley brothers covered the seals and croft song so they would need the permission from them, and since they dont like hip hop...however, i also heard that afeni didnt approve of the track...
also the reason bizzy may sound different is also the mics, bizzy did not record with pac, he was just added in for his album.
and now that i think about it it might have been dj predator mixtape...
...it was played there because they had gotten one of the extremely limited promo cd's with the song on it. there are two promo cd's out, one fake, one legit, both with three tracks.lazie said:When was the DJ Predator mixtape released? Was that the first release of Confessions that started in the middle of Bizzy's verse and seemed to be CDQ? It was also tagged several times, if I remember correctly. As far as I know, the cut up tagged version is still the best quality that I have heard.
I've also always wondered why Confessions was "re-released" to radio stations around 2000. By re-released I am refering to the fact that it was played on a Nashville station years prior to it being played country wide.
