question, is there any media availible for these burners yet? I mean some are 16x and the fastest ive seen is 2.4x media and its rare at that?

it seems quite expensive fordual layer disks at the mo, but its probably best to get the technology now ready for proce drops

Yes, 16x media is available for these burners. It is not common amongst retail stores yet, but it can be found at many e-tailers such as Meritline or Supermediastore. 2.4x refers to the DVD+R standard. Since most new burners support both DVD +/-R, you should be able to purchase either at speeds rated at 16x. Dual layer +R has been available for a while now. It is not practical for most people as prices are still quite high. Dual layer support for -R is still a very new technology. I am not even sure whether any dual layer -R media has even hit the market yet...
