Queen Latifah is putting her music and movie career on hold so she can become a mom.
The rapper/actress has given herself a 12 months to realise her lifelong dream of motherhood - and she won't let anything get in the way.
She says, "I'm really working on it. I've got everyone galvanised, I've cleared my schedule, and it's going to happen soon. God willing, I will be a mom by this time next year."
Latifah, real name Dana Owens, puts her new mothering instincts down to her starring role in Ice Age: The Meltdown, in which she plays an animated mammoth.
She adds, "The thing about having a child is... I believe it's the most unselfish thing you could ever do. They're going to come first."
