Technology PS3 more popular than xbox 360

^Not at all. It's not supposedly better hardware wise, it is better. None of the developer talk has turned out to be a bunch of BS either...? Developers are saying they haven't reached the full potential of what it will do cus the market hasn't caught up yet, with games being released that is. Right now it doesn't really have anything to do with how they program the games, more of what consumers are buying and giving the steady climb to eliteness, heh. The newer the games the better they will be pretty much.

Yup, it's common knowledge that the PS3's hardware IS better than the 360's. The only problem is that it's still very early in it's life span and developers are still barely finding out how to properly work with the dev kits. It's just like the PS2, compare the earlier games from when it was first released to the ones recently coming out for the. The graphics of the games coming out today are a whole lot more advance than the games that first came out in the PS2's launch.

So just give it a little time for the developers to really get a hang of the PS3 hardware and you will see so crazy and beautiful shit coming out soon.

ok we all know that ps3 is better if it comes to hardware.

and it's not only 8core vs. 3core thing but the fact that everything in it is better and newer, yet unused technologies are involved (except having less memory which is not important as it's not OS based).

The point is that I need your opinions, I'm not sure to buy a cheap 360 arcade which costs 300$ or more expensive ps3 40gig which is 650$?
It's twice as much.

I'm much more into Japanese games but I'm buying a next gen console mostly for few games (like gta4 or new ufc) which will most likely come out for both. Of course it would be great to play new Yakuza or Tekken and such and actually there's no 360 exclusive that I would like to play but I can't overcome that price difference :/
Microsotf's marketing and economists > Sony ones.

edit: Also is there any catch for 360 arcade being that cheap?
300$ for a set with newest 65nm xboxes + modded.. cheap as fuck.
Core versions cost 500$ here while premiums 600$.

That is actually a big factor as to why it's selling alot better now. Also the recent price drop along with the 5 bluray give away also got a fuck load of people to buy the system. Giving the buyer the option to choose between a backwards compatible bundle or a core system for a $100 less also led to alot of people putting up the cash to get one. And of course the release of MGS4 and the corresponding PS3 bundle coming up in the near future is gonna sell a good amount more of PS3's too.

Just get both, Masta. I have 360, Wii, and I'm bout to get a PS3. Right now XBL is superior. (don't say psn is free) PSN has alot of work to do. They still haven't got in game XMB working, That's where you can invite people in-game. The PSN store and home seem to never be coming. Maybe you should get the 360 and by the time you save up for the PS3 they will have everything worked out and more games to play.

Me and my family were loving bowling at first. Now we never play it. I can't remember the last time I turned it on. Brawl is suppose to be the shit but I'm not paying that much for a new game. Wii fit might be cool for working out. The games don't really cater to me cause I'm a shooter whore. Mario cart? Might be fun.

I would but money is a factor. I became a college student and I spend most of my time in a computer lab practicing for that institute so all I get is like 200$/month
And I don't have time to work seriously.
Gosh I hope it will pay off someday but now saving for both consoles would take me ages.

I own a hd ready 21' display with no hdmi (it's sort of a pc monitor) so I'd also like to buy a better screen.

it might be a good idea. Selling my old xbox I'd only have to pay like 100-150$ more to get a 360.
I'd have a tool to play gta4 and few other nice games.

On the other hand there are more ps3 games I'd like to play.

Sony should create a cheaper ps3 version without wireless controller and without hard drive to compete with 360 arcade ^^
a 5$ 128mb memory card would be enough for all save files.

this is the most fucked up race i've seen in years in the console wars... the 360 has all these hardware failures, people think the ps3 is too expensive and the wii, which is selling the most gets no attention... i cant really i say i regret buying my 360 a month ago because i play halo on Live all night.. maybe it's the online element which i never experienced that has me hooked, but i dont know how i lived without it the past couple of months..

yeah they are so expensive in Poland.
All electronic stuff is more expensive than in US and salaries are much lower so it sucks.
I'd buy it off ebay but it's really risky here, my friend ordered a lcd screen and got it destroyed during transport, my other friend ordered an iphone but it never arrived.

Not that many good exclusives? Thats the main thing that runs the consoles. XBox has of course the Halo series, Gears Of War, BioShock etc. While PS3 has one of the most anticipated exclusives ever MGS4 along with others like the new Gran Turismo, SOCOM, God Of War 3, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2.

you dont like console shooters?? all the killer apps he listed were shooters for the ps3, save for GT5....

also, highly anticipated is a term used on forums for people that are on forums... the average joe that doesnt read up on gaming isnt anticipating anything his local gamestop hasnt been advertising.. and even that it's a stretch to assume the number of people "anticipating" a game... people flooded to halo 3 and the sales numbers for it were staggering... guitar hero was the same way... to say that halo series is shit is an opinion.. i havent played guitar hero but the way people talk about it, it almost seems they think they can now play an actual guitar like hendrix could... that to me is stupid and pointless... so it's all in opinion what is "anticipated" and what is "stupid".... the best way to make this decision is on your own... not uneducated, but on your own so that you know what you want, what to look for, and you'll enjoy it more when it works out for you... all my friends had 360s so i got one so i could play games on Live with them... if no one you know has a 360 and you want one, that might be just one factor in your decision... there are many more
