Technology PS2 DVD Question

Why cant i play a dvd i burned with TMPGEnc in my sony ps2 (FIRST VERSION) what am i doing wrong?

Did you burn it on an DVD-rom, or did you make a VCD copy? You can't play bootleg VCD's on PS2.

^im burning it on a dvd-r

the first version ps2's only play dvd - r. you are most likely recording to a dvd+r. try recording to the dvd-r and it will work.

^ nope im recording on sony dvd-r (made in japan). idk wtf is wrong

did u try it on a home dvd player to see if the dvd is recorded properly? try that and let me know

Did u burn it as DVD video or just a normal DVD disk. If you use nero, make sure its a DVD video y0ou are burning, then it should work. To check if its a dvd video you have burned, pop the disk in your PC, open it, and look for .vob files...if u got them its all good, if not it's not been recorded as a dvd video disk.

yup i opened it and it has 2 folders, audio_ts and video_ts. audio foder is empty but there are vob files in the video..
