Let's start off with what kind of software you use for recording and why?
There are many apps. to use for recording.The number one tool industry standard is PRO-TOOLS which is the software i use.However before my use of pro-tools ofcourse there were others.A good recording app.I used before was ACID way back.Many friends and other producers had no problems using NUENDO,SONAR,DIGITAL PERFORMER etc.What do you use for recording or sequencing.I come to find out PRO-TOOLS has a bigger variety of PLUG-INS but is far advanced more intricate than others DIGITAL PERFORMER falls in this league also.However i heard no difference in quality from these apps.Depending on what soundcard you have installed.Let us share our experiences and any questions on these applications.

So far i have only skills with - my turntables, i started mixing when i was 13 years old and been mixing ever since. (am 21 now)
In 2003 i wanted to do some rap mixing cause it was totaly new for me to mix rap so i tried Sony Acid Music Studio and im still using it for making all my remixes, its a very easy to use program i think.
After that i tought what the heck i gotta learn how to make beats so i got Fruity Loops, my toughts on Fruity Loops. its a bit hard in the begin, figuring out what all the buttons and effects are but im gettin a hang of it jus a little bit. Im currently workin on a hip hop beat and its comin out good i think and ill defo post it up when i finished it ( dont ask me when tho )
Some things i would like to know from you Assassin.
What do you think are good programs for making your own beats?
Or do you use proffesional gear like equalizers and all that?

For mixing I have a thing called AtomixMP3 Trial :sad:. You put tha pella on tha left and tha beat on tha right, push record, and play them at tha same time. Hopefully in tha end it sounds good.
@Smokaveli Best program software wise thus far has to be REASON for me.As far as External Gear going there are alot of pieces i use also that i will later post and go into detail and show pics of my external gear.
@2pacthug4life Interesting to let the pellas just fly and cross your fingers,maybe that program automatically adjust pitches of sort .I heard some do .I never got around to AtomixMp3 when i get the chance i'll peep and run a review thanx!

If by pitches you mean volume, then no, I set tha volume up how I want in tha beginning and can change it anytime I want.

, it doesn't do any of that. You just play tha beat and pella at tha same time and you can slow or speed up tha pella to make it match tha beat.

All good let's learn, we all learn new things that's what this thread is for to teach and learn ways of recording.Class is in session let us move on folks(lol)!I if anyone ever gets ashamed of not knowing something and does not wanna post it due 2 embarrasement PM it NO PROBLEMO! About a year ago, a friend of mine gave me a copy of Reason 2.5. And I've used Reason since. On reason 3 now. I'm saving for an MPC though.
I use Adobe Audition an Recycle 2.0 to sort out my samples and chop stuff up before I go into reason.

I use a free program called Audacity for remixing.It is very easy to use and I get exellent results with it.

A nice program that can automatically detect tempo is ACID most versions of ACID have a tool which the wizard giudes you through and detects the BPM.
