Technology Problem with a virus, help?

Im forever getting alerts from the anti-virus thing telling me there is a trojan horse virus and that it needs to be fixed, so i do what it tells me and the file is deleted - but I mean these messegaes just keep coming - how the bloody hell do you get rid of it? the computer is slowing down beyond believe and it contains all my uni work.

As you can most likely tell i havent a god dam clue when it comes to computers, so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

the best thing i have found thats works wonderfully is Microsoft Anti Spyware. this thing will get rid of everything,all kinds of trojans,spyware,etc...

you can get it for free from the microsoft site.

also,make sure it stays running in the background,it will intercept anything suspicious.
