Pro Tools Vocal Distortion

This thread is directed at any heads who are using pro tools, I've just re-installed Pro Tools LE 6.1.1, all settings are default yet when i record, my vocals are all distorted, I have had a similar problem and forget how to fix it, i do not think that it has to do with my microphone, I have put off calling their Tech Support hoping I could find a solution, but haven't been able to solve it, below is a yousendit.com link for a sample of what it is doing to my vocals, i am still a newbie and mixed it incorrectly and you will have to turn up the volume pretty loud to hear it...........

I think I know what you mean, cant check the audio at work though.

I get that sometimes. I just close Pro Tools and start a new session and it fixes the problem. No idea what causes it.

Also, make sure you dont have Service Pack 2 installed, and if you do, download the Pro Tools patch for it off their site.

Hmmmmmm... No idea man, are you sure all your cables are in fine and working? Phantom power is on?

Try reinstalling it all again. Make sure you uninstall it first and remove all the old installed files.

i had this problem a couple of times... what i do to fix it is quit protoools then unplug the usb cable out of the mbox (not pc) then plug it back in... then restart protools.
