Hey can anyone let me know how much cheaper things are in Dubai? I wanna buy an Ipod and some other shit but need to know how much cash Ill need.

Cheers.

Why Dubai? You'll be able to get better prices pretty much anywhere in the East. That could be anywhere from Pakistan to the Asia. For those who want to get technical, when I say Asia, I am refering to countries like China, Vietnam, etc.

Are you going to dubai or are you going to order it?

Dubai is fuckin cheap. Everything is like a half or quarter of what everyone pays.(depends on the stuff)

BUT

he's the catch. if you order it,and it gets sent to you, you have to pay some duties to get it in your country,WHICH is, whatever is missing in price to match the price of where you live(well roughly close to that).

I was once interested into importing cars, and I talked to some people, and they told me prices may sound insane, but once u want to get the product into your countries, there duties to pay,or else everyone would buy from dubai and re-sell it,which would kill the markets.Dubai shit is only for dubai.

Unless you know someone who is going to dubai who can buy it for you and bring it back with him/her.

dubai was pretty chea when i went. things like food were expensive but gold was piss cheap. Electronic, tech and communication roducts were piss cheap. And perfume and cologne was piss cheap. Much cheaper then aus. Plus there is no tax on anything.

No I wont be ordering it from Dubai. We have an office in Dubai.

So come on, any idea on how much Ill need for a Ipod? I dont give a fuck about food or if you like dubai or if you dont or your opinion on the trade prices in the rest of the middle east and asia, I asked specifically about DUBAI and primarly about an IPOD.

it would be cheaper then aus i'd assume. I can't give you an exact price but i bought my sony ericsson phone from hongkong for 350, when it was 600 in Aus and my sister bought it for 300 in Dubai.
I can ask my sister to ask her husband if you like to check prices of ipods in dubai. Tell me which one you want and i'll let u know. 20gb-40gb?

Trust me, not that much diff. Electronics in general are pretty much around the same price - the diff is if youre gona get an older model.

^^TRUST ME ITS DIRT CHEAP IN DUBAI

rukas i dont know exact price,i guess ur gonna have to wait for someone to help you out,or wait till the_one can get u the info. but i can give u an estimate that it will be around %60 of the price you would pay in aus.

:thumb: yea last time i went dubai which was summer last year the only thing i realy contemplated buying that was expensive ironically was a ipod too, lol. the prices really wernt that much different from what i could have got from england. from what i can remmeber uk price was back then about 250 and they had it for 220 for 20gb or something in that range there was nothin crazily cheaper

Rukas who gave you the idea that electronics are cheaper in dubai?
i think that's a very misconception..i once thought so as well, but electronics there cause as much as they do anywhere around the world..you may find stores with offers and such..but its very unlikely that youll find a cheaper ipod..sorry

You're wrong.4 years ago, I got a new nokia 6210 for $130 from Dubai, it was around the same price in other stores over there, when it was sold for almost $260 in Jordan.I got a PS2 from Dubai for $190, and that was 4 years ago, as well.
Rukas, you have to look around, I doubt you would find an Ipod for a significantly lower price in Dubai from the first place you check.

I know a guy who went to Dubai, he did say that food is very cheap and I vaguely remember him saying something about electronic goods. I'll try to find out.

on second thought I think it would actually be cheaper to buy an ipod in the us. The dollar is a complete joke at the moment, everything is like half price!
