Police follow foot prints to alleged robber

Fresh snowfall helped put an accused armed robber’s plans on ice early Wednesday at the Sunshine Foods.
At about 4:30 a.m., a man threatened a store employee while displaying a black pistol. He and another man then walked out with two bottles of Lord Calvert liquor.
Police were able to follow footprints through the snow from the store at 2700 W. 10th St. to a nearby apartment at 2400 W. 9th St.. There they found the liquor and a semi-automatic pistol. Officers arrested two men there fitting the description of the men in the grocery.
Ricky Taz Martinez, 18, faces a first-degree robbery charge. Manuel Joseph Lopez was arrested for misprison of a felon for knowing about the crime but not informing authorities.
