Has anyone ever sent their Playstation 2 to Sony to get repaired? If you have, did it costs you anything? I heard that they fix it or replace it for free (not sure which, I forget). I am not exactly sure what's wrong with it, but it's obviously broke because it won't really play games right. I know it makes a noise at times where it seems like the games are skipping, but that's about all I know right now.

Anyone? :thumb:

they will only fix it(or replace it if they cant fix it) only if you have some kind of warranty. I think when you buy it,it comes with a 90 day warranty. other than that, you would have to pay for repairs

that blows. I bought it like a little over 3 years ago, lol.

I had this EXACT same problem. (Linx) turn your PS2 upside down, (or to the side) but upside down worked for me, and then the blue discs should work. pz

That happened with my PS2, it was one of the first generation ps2s and when I asked someone at a gaming store they laughed and told me that I should just get a new one, that it would be cheaper..apparently with the older ps2s after a while it stops reading blue bottom disks, then DVDs, then the silver bottom ones, then it dies.

just get a new ps2. They dont cost that much anymore...plus they got the thin ones now. They're so sick.

If I had the money to just buy another one, I wouldn't ask how to fix the one I have.

someitmes its cheaper to fix it, other times its cheaper to get one .... goooddd! sorry for tryin to help

oh i just remembered. the older models dont read those blue discs that good. nothing is wrong with your laser or ps2.its just a compatability issue.

i suggest you find a cheap dvd burner, then re burn the blue dics(if its possible, i havent really looked into it), but that can be your best option if it works.
