PhoeniX CrookedCross - Never Do

Oh shit, that hook is hot as hell. Who's singing that? Needs raised a little and more, and the vocals are a little too high. Beat is crazy also...Who did that? Flow's tight but the lyrics are just average man...Nice drop...

Peep my track, Down To Do The Time Remix, if you haven't already...

You used the beat. :D Nice nice.

New mic sounding clear as hell, liking it. Flow is tight, anbd this in one take? Shit, you did good. Lyrics are nice.

Love the hook too, nice work.

edit: just heard the shout out, thanks homie. :thumb:

bro you have a hella unique voice for it, im likeing it,the track sounds tight, classic beat, and you sound really good on it, your working with it, although your flow in this i think is a bit more agressive than the beat, content wise its sounding like self-rep, a little unoriginal but im being hypocritical because i do it too, (lol that sounded tight), your rhyming is simple, its nice though, sounds like just basic rhyming and multis, and flow is on for most part. not feeling the sex verse, there is one really explicit line in there about fisting lol, i like how you sing along with the chorus at like 2:30, i like your talking halfway through the track.

its a nice track man, i think the beat kills it (in a good way), but be proud of it.

You're trying to be 2Pac, the laugh sounds awkward and you seem to be in two different minds when it comes to choosing an accent to rap with. I suggest listening to local rappers, get a grip of your accent and learn how it can be used in a song.

The track isn't bad, your lyrics are okay but you slurred a few words so work on that. You have a good voice but it's sometimes sloppy.

I understand what you mean with the whole accent thing but I don't think about shit like that when I flow. I just step to the mic, close my eyes and rip my verse from my heart. But it's cool, thanx for checking it out.

It seems most people are listening to this track as if its a full song. WHEN ITS NOT.
I recorded the whole track, start to finish in one take. The verses I dropped was 80% written and then it was by memory. The other 20% was freestyle. So I look at this track as a fuck around. cuz I mainly recorded this track to get my mixing with my new mic sorted and sounding just right. thats all.

anyway, thanx for checking it out guys. keep 'em coming.

Like the beat. Funky as hell. Dig what youre saying in the intro too.

Delivery and flow are fucking tight. Love the lines about the sniper rifle and your your flow when weeded in the first verse.

"Sucking on my nads?!" You're one crazy dude. Got wild skill but crazy as hell. Not dissing you - you got real character and it shows in the songs. Loving your drops. Keep em comin.

Oh and the levels are fine :thumb:

Where do you live? How many Birmingham accents have you heard? And what dictionary did you refer to before typing the word hate to describe my post?

hay man, I understand what you mean with the whole sounding like pac thing. I've had it since I first started rapping. I've had people say I sound like a cross between Tupac, some of the outlaws, Biggie and Treach from NAUGHTY BY NATURE. But trust me, it's not intentional. I just step to the mic, close my eyes and let it rip.

If you really wanna talk about the Birmingham accent. Then we can. Most people think EVERY ONE from Birmingham will have that deep brummy accent but we don't.
Personally, I fucking hate it when people take the piss out of it. cuz like I said, not every one from Birmingham talks with that deep brummy accent.
Yes i do have a little brummy accent, only cuz I was born and raised here. But I've made a conscious choice to loose the accent when I rap.
Only cuz it doesn’t sound right to me. It sounds out of place on the beat.
Maybe cuz for years we’ve only heard US rappers on beats and now it’s deep in our subconscious. I don’t know, But I have tried to rap and use the Birmingham/English accent and it don’t work. I personally don’t like it.

I have and I always will, I make music for me. Not you, or the thugs on the street, or the radio. I make music for me. I make the kind of music I wanna listen too.
Honestly, I don't really give a fuck what you or any one else thinks.

The day I start thinking about what you (the music listeners) think is the day I start making music with intentions to attract or to keep a particular audience. & to me, that’s being FAKE.
Being REAL is following your heart and doing what you wanna do. & if people can relate to that, then that’s great. But if you can’t, if you can’t ‘FEEL’ me. Then it doesn’t bother me cuz I know in my heart I’m real. I haven’t sold my soul, I have lied, I haven’t cheated, I haven’t tried to fit in. I’ve stayed true to me.

So you can say I sound like Tupac all you want, it don’t effect me.
& the reason why YGB said you’re hating on me is cuz you came with negative feedback and it wasn’t real creative. The only good thing you said about my track was my voice and then you said it was sloppy at times.

But personally, I appreciate any kind of feedback. Good or bad, it’s better than not getting any.

You asked for feedback I gave it, don't complain because I gave construtive critism instead of praising you like a child who has just drawn his first stick figure.

I lived in Birmingham, I lived around Birmingham (Rugely & Staffordshire), don't talk to me as if I'm being the ignorant artist here.

2Pac's laugh had an accent you don't find in England, it isn't YOURs naturally and you know it. That's 2Pac's influence manifesting in your music, if you are offended DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

This post is just a slap in the face by a prat to a man who a few days ago spent 20 minutes listening to his track 3 times to understand what improvements could be made.

So you can say I sound like Tupac all you want, it don’t effect me. & the reason why YGB said you’re hating on me is cuz you came with negative feedback and it wasn’t real creative. The only good thing you said about my track was my voice and then you said it was sloppy at times.
There was nothing negative in my post, and what exactly wasn't creative? I pointed the things out no one else bothered to. What do you want me to do? Don't answer becuase it's obvious.

Bill G man, seriously, you need to chill.

I get what he means about the US accent sometimes coming out as sort of natural in a rap. We, scince we ever heard rap, have heard mostly US hip-hop. More recently, last few years, UK rappers have come more into the eye, but they still get neer to no recognition over here compared to what the mainstream US artists do.

I know for sure when I first wrote a verse and rapped it, it came out in a US accent. I didn't conciously choose to do that, I did it becuase that's how I was used to hearing rap lyrics be spit. Afterall, we learn from copying yeah?

So I made a concious decition to try and make my Northern englsih accnt come out in my songs. Because I wanted it to. Crooked Cross obviously likes his more, estuary approach to accent better than his natural speaking accent, and so he spits like that. He's by no means rapping in an american accent, or an accent anything close to Pac's so saying he's trying to be Pac comes off a little stupid, in my eyes. As he says, he's being real. He's making the music the way he likes to make it, because he makes it for himself and his own enjoyment. Fuck working for what others want.

Thats just my two pennies. ;)

look, I understand where you coming from. but I ain't bitting pac.
Now if Tupacs style is 'manifesting' in my music, then it must be from my subconscious, but yeah maybe Tupac has rubbed off on me a little. But I'm not writing and rapping my shit thinking 'How would Pac rap this or How would Pac say that?' na, no way.
I'm not offended but it does get me down when I hear it all the time.
"You sound like pac, you laugh like Tupac."

If it’s the voice, then there’s nothing I can do about that. I was born with it.
If it’s the way I flow, the way I say words then once again, there’s nothing I can do about that. I just say things how I say ‘em.

But honestly, I appreciate the feedback.

You've hit the nail on the head. I came to those cross roads myself, but you made the choice to have the English accent come out on your songs while I made the choice to lose it.

Nice to know you understand, but Ant, please don't tell me to chill. I left feedback and was attacked for it, revise your words.
