It's not the same Pete Rock who used to make awesome beats to be honest. He can create something good from time to time but most of his stuff these days is average. I expected more from this album. I mean, there are some good tracks on it and it's really worth checking out but his beats don't do it justice. The beat I posted above is one of his best that he made lately. Other than that and maybe 2-3 others 'Monumental' is filled with rather average beats.

I am watching him with Roy Ayres. It will be all live instruments... So... I am guessing it'll be a lot of his old stuff, and mostly him rapping over Roy ayres stuff.

The album grew on me. I like it much more.

Steele hasn't changed at all. His voice and flow are pretty constant throughout his whole career and he's one of the best at it in my opinion.
