If Chavez cut his supply to the U.S. his economy would go bust. If he wants to stay in power, simple economics would dictate that neither he nor his successors should follow such a course.

Cutting off our oil shows the usual Marxist understanding of economics. Oil is a fungible commodity, so once the oil enters the world market, it doesn't matter much where it was pumped from. Quality and transportation costs may affect price, but they have to sell it to someone. I haven't heard Chavez talk about shutting down the pump.

Anyway, I hope he does cut off our oil supply. We don't need any more oil. We need alternatives to oil. Our oil habit is supplying our enemies with billions of dollars to use against us. It doesn't matter where we get the oil from, as long as we're buying it anywhere (even domestically) it raises the prices of oil which means that the Saudis get more money. The solution is to stop buying oil.

Terrorists get their funding from two sources: Oil money and drug money. Chavez is trying to help us on both those fronts. :thumb:

all i ment was chavez is a bad person. i'm not saying that he kills his own people or anything like that. i knew it was a bad comparison after i wrote it but i didnt feel like editing.

did anyone see pat try to make poor excuses for his statement. he said that he did not say that the u.s. should assasinate chavez, but that what he did say is thatt special forces should take him out. LOL
