Film & TV Pan's Labyrinth

Hmmm... Not what I expected, but good...

The whole WW2 sub plot felt more like the main plot of the movie and pushed the fantasy to the side for me...

And ermmm..... You'd think that a movie called Pan's Labyrinth would actually focus on a Labyrinth....

Since I saw the previews I've been pretty interested in seeing this. How much would you give on 10?

Well, apparently, the movie seems to have two plots. Where one can't exist without the other. What was going on was the Spanish Civil War. So, she creates this imaginary world to escape reality.

It's a weird movie but I think it's good.

She doesnt create the fantasy, it actually exists, there are a couple references and things that happen in the movie that could ONLY happen if the fantasy is real, Ill let you work it out for your self, but Pan is definitly real.

No it wasn't real. The ending completely gave it away.

1. The captain couldn't see the faun when the little girl was talking to it.

2. When she was dying from that gunshot, she finally imagined she was there in her palace. But then the scene goes back to her dying, indicating that she was imagining it. She never went anywhere.

3. Remember, the little girl was fond of books and stories. She simply created her own. The little girl is living in one big fantasy story.

4. Also, at the end with supposed father king. The lady sitting next to the king was her mother, but remember her mother had died. She was also holding a baby, no other than the little girl's brother of course.

The movie was executed very well.

The Spanish title translates as the Labyrinth of the Faun, but they renamed it as Pan's Labyrinth for for English release which is kinda weird as the Faun isn't Pan.

It was real. I havent seen it in ages, but when she is locked in the room she uses the magical thing to open a door in the wall to get out of the room. If it was all in her head, she'd have never gotten out of that room and the story wouldnt have progressed, but the fantasy element which you say isnt real allowed her to escape the room, and that means it must have been real.

I agree with Rukas, it was real.

That weird creature with the eyes in its hands was well fucked up.

Plus it had to be real because the evil officer dude and the little girl's mother could both see the weird root thing that got thrown into the fire and killed the mom.
