I understand the Amaru foundaton and all that and that's great. It is. But, when it comes to a 2pac rap album. Not a poetry disc, not a book of poetry, pictures, biography, etc.... it's a fucking 2pac rap album. not a Tupac Shakur album. 2fuckingPac. not Tupac Amaru Shakur, not Lesane Parich Crooks, 2PAC!!!! I think they have forgotten what that means and the difference between Tupac and 2pac. They need to rewind the tapes and listen to Tupac speak about his music and how he was an entertainer and his songs were like movies.
They're trying to mold Tupac Amaru Shakur and 2pac into the same person. They need to stop. If we want to find out about Tupac, we will get his poetry discs, his books, his biographies and such. If we buy a 2pac album.... We want to hear 2pac. Rough, Rugged, Thugged out 2pac Thug Life Makaveli The Don!
I have ntohing against remixing his unheard songs and giving them an updated sound. As long as they use producers and guests that are true to 2pac's music. Throwing in big name commercial artist just because they're big names or had a hit on the 13 year old teen charts is bullshit. They're not the ones buying the albums. They're using commercial artists that appeal to the teenagers and they legally can't even buy the albums! They're not even buying the albums! The people who been buying the albums since Strictly 4 My Niggaz, Me Against The World or All Eyez On Me are the ones buying the albums. And getting sick of all the commercial bullshit.
That's for Amaru, read that pls. Everyone here seems to know who 2pac was/is and what his music was/is about, and why it was/is so great. It's amazing to me to see that the people who are in control of his music and life works are also the people farthest away from knowing what he was/is to the world.
