packetnews.com & ircspy.com

This should be in Tech Talk.

How do you know it installs something, does a pop-up pop up? Packetnews doesn't install anything on my PC, so it's probably some virus or spyware you already have. Run scans.

A tiny square window pops up in the bottom right corner of my screen and disappears - that sometimes means that somethig has just been installed. Then when I run my AdWare scanning software, it finds stuff like BHO & EliteSideBar and alot of other shit that runs at the startup of my system.

I remember that little window...pops up out of nowhere and immediately goes away. Guess what? I switched to Firefox and Mr. Little Window never paid a visit again.

i have a machine with win 98 on it. when i go to those sites it installs spyware.i checked the source and it does indeed.

people with windows xp sp2 have nothing to worry since the exploits been patched. if u havent upgraded to sp2 do so,and install all the updates.

if u have win 98 or winme, get all the updates for those OS's and you will be fine.
