Pac being best at lyrical skills.

(Example: Most people probably didn't give a shit about Napoleon's verse from the Still I Rise version of U Can Be Touched. However, I bet when those same people heard the OG with Pac rapping basically the same verse, all of a sudden it seemed 50x better than it really was. This is what I mean. Not to say Pac was overrated, but that he had the ability to enhance his lyrics into 3D when recited, which is more of a vocal characteristic than one of lyrical skills. Just my opinion.)
100% agreed, sir!

When I first heard Napo's verse on UCBT, I thought that it sounded like something Pac would spit and I was right. :D

The dictionary's definitions of words don't always coincide with the hip-hop/rap definitions. We can all agree on that.

But anyway, contrary to the textbook definition of "lyrical," I view it as pertaining to complexity and innovation in terms of word usage (similes, metaphors, alliteration, punchlines, etc.). I think we can all agree on that too.

I wouldn't consider Pac a lyrical rapper, but he has a few songs (which I listed in a previous post) where he came lyrically on-point to a degree. One of the main reasons why a lot of people consider Pac a lyrical rapper is because it's Pac and because his voice just takes over you--and this is definitely a great characteristic for an artist to have, perhaps more so than being "lyrical." However, if you just read his lyrics in your head or imagine another rapper reciting the same words, it has less of an effect since it is no longer Pac's voice breathing life into those very lyrics. (Example: Most people probably didn't give a shit about Napoleon's verse from the Still I Rise version of U Can Be Touched. However, I bet when those same people heard the OG with Pac rapping basically the same verse, all of a sudden it seemed 50x better than it really was. This is what I mean. This guy knows what hes talking about.

The dictionary's definition version of the word Lyrical certainly does not apply in this case.

We tend to give Pac advantage or credit when its not due just because its Pac and we want him to be best out there with Rakim's, and Biggie's.

I think Definition of a Thug Nigga is one of Pac's best lyrical tracks

"Well I roll wit a crew of zoo niggas/ quick to pull a nine when its time to do niggas/ comin through like I'm two niggas/ a true nigga, fuck a zig zag, roll me a blunt and pass the brew nigga/"

"Spittin game through my mobile phone/ the type of shit that gets the hos to bone"

My definition of a thug nigga

For me Pac is lyrically best on:

Rebel Of The Underground
Under Pressure
Violent
Troublesome 96
So Many Tears
Lord Knows
Hearts of Men
If I Die 2nite
Only Fear of Death
Still I Rise
Holla I U Hear Me
The Streetz are Deathrow
Hail Mary
Ballad Of A Dead Souljah
Letter 2 My Unborn
Everything They Owe
Late Night
Who Do U Believe In

I don't mean to shit on your opinion, but that song, specifically the lines you quoted, is hardly lyrical, maybe a 4 on a scale of 1-10. The first lines you quoted are basically just "[insert word that rhymes with 'ooh'] niggas" rhyming with "[insert different word that rhymes with 'ooh'] niggas"... hardly lyrical at all. The second lines you quoted is just your basic multisyllabic rhyme that Pac managed to do every so often in his pre-Death Row work. And if you thought that was dope, how about lines like these from another former Death Row artist:

"They make me want to trip with this gauge
And you suckers will be 'Gone in 60 Seconds' quicker than Nicholas Cage"
"You know I gotta drop cowards with nine millimeters of Glock power
Drop trousers, do your girl in a hot shower
For a hot hour, then drop her off at the Watts Towers"
"Don't tangle, I choke, strangle, break both ankles
Dangle you from a rope, clotheshang you from a coat angle
The mangler so anxious to kill, able to spill
Ancient languages, dangerous as eighty painkiller pills
Young jacker, Gucci hat tilted, gun-clapper
I'm every artist Suge ever signed in one rapper"

Now THAT'S lyrical. Try going back into Pac's lyrics and find REAL examples of Pac being lyrical, not just his basic rhymes that you all seem to think are so incredible.

Dayz Of A Criminal

Some lines from the song

"If that was indo, niggaz get rolled up"

"2Pac got it locked like a canibus"

Theres so much more lines, but I can't remember any.
